God’s great desire is for everyone to be part of a community where all are loved and cared for. Not one based on power, privilege, and wealth, but a community of the broken and vulnerable, with individuals at risk.
We need to be in relationship with one another—a community where we encounter the living God.
What hinders us from living in this kind of relationship? Sadly, we are too hard-hearted, selfish, and broken. Through Jesus we gain the cure for this.
We call it the church—a gathering of the broken and beloved, hurting and healing, and those who know their need but also realize that in helping meet the needs of others, their own are met as well.
Jesus meets us here where hearts are softened and drawn ever closer to God’s own heart.
