
The Reverend Ingrid Schalk accepted a call as Pastor of Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church in June 2016, after completing a two-year term call as Associate Pastor at Peace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Tennessee.
A native of Sterling, Illinois, Pastor Schalk received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Concordia University – Chicago in 1979 with concentrations in industrial education and mathematics. She received her Master of Divinity in May 2013 from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina. She served her internship year at the Lutheran Church of the Nativity in Arden, North Carolina, and summer Clinical Pastoral Education at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was ordained on April 26, 2014 at her home congregation, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Pastor Schalk is a member of the Knoxville Choral Society, and Knoxville Christian Arts Ministry, an ecumenical group whose mission is sharing the good news of Jesus in prisons across Tennessee through music, drama and dance. She also serves on the Local Community Resource Board for Morgan County Correctional Complex in Wartburg, Tennessee.
Ingrid and her husband, Tim, live in the Toqua neighborhood in Tellico Village. Tim works in the environmental field as project manager for S&ME in Louisville, Tennessee. Their son, Aaron, and daughter-in-law, Tasha, live in Gallatin, Tennessee. She can be reached at [email protected].
